Moles are traditionally nailed to fences - it's a way of counting coupe so the molecatcher gets paid. More on this after I visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acart.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Allenheads Contemporary Arts (ACA)<\/a>, an arts centre in the moors of\u00a0 rural Northumberland. <\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Just for context, I looked into molecatchers and found this gent \"<a href=\"http:\/\/www.molecatcher.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jeff Nicholls  the GRASS SHARK HUNTER<\/a>. \" Of course he's in the Guild of British Molecatchers:<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.guildofbritishmolecatchers.co.uk\/\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-866\" title=\"wpe57341\" src=\"https:\/\/o-matic.com\/blog-archive-2022\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/wpe57341.gif\" alt=\"wpe57341\" width=\"196\" height=\"181\" \/><\/a><\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">He's written some eponymous books that <span style=\"color: #333300;\">have met with rave reviews -- <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\"Anyone who suffers from moles will      find Jeff Nicholl's Molecatcher a long awaited lifeline.\"<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">But I haven't found too many technical pics on his web site, except this one, tugs at the heart strings (especially after petting a very soft, dead mole at the taxidermy studio of Eric Morton):<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-869\" title=\"2008_0313mole0001\" src=\"https:\/\/o-matic.com\/blog-archive-2022\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/2008_0313mole0001-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"2008_0313mole0001\" width=\"439\" height=\"329\" \/><\/span>\r\n\r\nBut this is what I was looking for:\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_871\" align=\"aligncenter\" width=\"510\" caption=\"Dead moles on a barbed wire fence 3 km from Whitley Chapel, Northumberland, Great Britain.
