I'd only ever gotten to pet a taxidermied one. This is a 4 year-old barn owl rescue; some teenagers brought their imprinted charges out to Holy Island from Berwick on Tweed, to raise money for their parents' rescue operation. There was this one:\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/22155573@N00\/3665658527\/\"><img class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2433\/3665655331_0b0e4ce6e5.jpg?v=0\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"322\" \/><\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n... and this one - a 9 week old abandoned tawny owl:\r\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3613\/3666469454_77f9b9d247.jpg?v=0\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\r\n\r\n...and a peregrine falcon and an american kestrel. and 2 very keen and knowledgable teenage girls.","type":"rich"}
