I'll be gathering research and conversation on a rather open-ended inquiry into\r\ndepleted oil fields,\r\npump jacks,\r\npicturesque big and small oil operations,\r\nmigratory flyways,\r\ninvasive species,\r\neffects of climate change,\r\nand\r\nwhat might spring to mind as elements of local ecosystems, intersections of nature\/culture, what makes Texas Texas.\r\n\r\nThe more these things overlap in real space, the better but right now I am keeping this open.\r\nVisual stunners welcome :)\r\nNon-sequitors also welcome.\r\n\r\n*Also, any movie references that feature classic \"oil\" landscapes would be appreciated -\r\n\r\nThe ultimate results of this research will be an animated landscape installation as part of the Mesocosm series (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.o-matic.com\/play\/friend\/mesocosm\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">here's the first one\u00a0 based on Northern England<\/a>) and hopefully a participatory art project.\r\n\r\nPlease post comments here.\r\nThanks so much!","type":"rich"}
