Simons Foundation Triangle Program Awardee for radio work

Zurkow, alongside scientist Becca Franks and producing partner Galen Joseph-Hunter/Wave Farm were awarded a 2026 Triangle Program award to create Lateral Lines. Premiering in spring 2027, this algorithmic radio work enters the sensory world of carp fish through their lateral line, the sensory organ through which they experience vibration, current and pressure. It functions as a sense akin to both human hearing and proprioception, and leads us to explore symmetry, research, and new mythopoetics. Co-writers Gal Nissim and Abigail Simon; composers David Sardy and Suzanne Thorpe.
